Toxic love is so tantalizing. It’s like we have everything in the world, and we can feel the sand slipping between our fingertips. We know it can be so blissfully comforting, like hanging from a bungee cord, only for the cord to be frayed. It’s exhilirating, it gives us everything in the world and more until it painfully takes it all away. It’s like a roller coaster that we don’t remember – we’re off, and it’s like we’d never been on in the first place. Deeply impermanent, deeply indulgent, deeply harmful, deeply appealing.
